Lifestyle photography is not something I usually post on here, as my lifestyle subjects are usually family or close friends. My posts consist mostly of client sessions, but I’ve been thinking that I should start making my blog a bit more personal. Since I decided to enter Rock the Shot’s February Lifestyle Challenge, I figured this was the perfect time.
In my life outside of photography, I am a home daycare provider. All the kiddies are used to seeing my camera around and pretty much ignore it now. This shot of my daughter and one of my daycare boys illustrates that perfectly (his mom is fine with me posting his photos, I checked ). I saw them sitting together, him watching her play on her iPod, and I grabbed my camera. I sat across from them for a few minutes, adjusting my camera settings and snapping a few shots. When I was done, I thanked them for not getting upset with me for taking their photo. Neither one of them had even noticed I was there…it was perfect.
