Whitby Photographer | In My Yard

The kids are back in school, the days are getting shorter, and yes, even some of the leaves have started to turn. Last night, I thought I’d go out in my yard and try to capture the last few signs of summer before it’s gone. I was surprised to see a bee since most of our perennials have lost their flowers. The only good thing about all pesky mosquitoes we’ve had this summer is the abundance of dragonflies. I had to wait a while for one to sit still for me, but I think my patience payed off. I love finding beauty in things we would normally take for granted, like dandelions. That’s the great thing about photography, it gives you a different perspective on the world. I am not sad to see summer go as autumn is my favourite time of year. I love the smell of the fresh, clean air, being able to wear sweaters again (yay!), and of course, the beautiful fall colours. The end of the mosquito bombardment doesn’t hurt either 🙂
